Frequently Asked Questions.

How do you count with The Counter?  Just a simple tap of the marking head on the item that you are counting, leaves a small mark and records a count.  If there is a mark - there is a count.  If there is a count - there is a mark.

Is The Counter difficult to learn how to use?  NO - The Counter will take a little practice to learn how to use it properly.  The vast majority of people get the feel of The Counter usually under one minute of using it.  Think of it as using the "mouse" on your computer for the first time.  A little awkward in the beginning - but then you wonder how you got by without it.  A practice sheet comes with every Counter

Will The Counter stand up to the extreme environments associated with industrial settings and at construction sites?  YES - The Counter has a gasketed, glass filled, polyester housing that is both water and dust resistant.  The housing is made to withstand the sudden shock and impact that may come from bumping or dropping The Counter when in use.  The industrial grade electronics and the specifically formulated inks have been specifically selected to operate in an extreme temperature range: -20 degrees to +150 degrees Fahrenheit.  Click here: Built Tough.

What types of material will I be able to mark on?  Almost anything!  Metal, Glass, Ceramics, Paper, Cardboard and most Plastics.  Note:  This ink is not intended to be used on "Cloth".

Is the marking ink safe?  YES - The selected inks are nontoxic and conforms to ASTM D-4236.

What color inks are available?  Black, Blue, Red, Green, Silver.  Silver is ideal for counting dark colored items.  Note: A Black Marking Head comes standard with The Counter.

Can I count without leaving a mark?  YES - Simply keep the air cap on the marking head, and use The Counter the same way.  The Counter will record your count, but will not leave a mark.

How do I change the marking heads?  Simply pull the marking head off and then push another marking head on;  similiar to the air cap on a magic marker.

What is the life expectancy of the marking heads?  The marking heads are rated to leave a mark for up to a minimum of 30,000 counts.

How is The Counter powered?  The Counter uses four "AAA" batteries.  The batteries can be easily replaced by simply removing the four housing screws, located on the back of the housing, replacing the batteries and then reassembling the housing.  This all can be done under a minute.  Note:  The Counter will be delivered to you with the batteries installed so that you can start using it immediately.
